Hajj & Umra Process
Definition of Umrah
In Arabic the word Umrah means a visit. Here it means paying a visit to Cabba, performing Tawaf around it, walking between Safa and Marwah, shaving one’s head or cutting one’s hair short and then disengagement.
Excellencies of Umrah
The following Hadith were mentioned about the Excellencies of Umrah
1- Muslim mentioned in his book Sahih Muslim (Muslim’s Authenticated Book) Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may peace and blessing be upon him) said: “ From one Umrah to the next is an atonement for any sins committed in between, and the reward for accepted Hajj is nothing but Paradise.”
2- Ibn Abbass (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may peace and blessing be upon him) said: “ Alternate between Hajj and Umrah (regularly) for these two remove poverty and sins just as the Blacksmith’s bellows removes impurities from iron.”
3- Ibn Omar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet said: “ Participant in military expedition to please Allah and Umrah performer are Allah’s quests, He called on them and they answered, they supplicated and are granted.”
4- Ibn Abbass (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (May peace and blessing be upon him) said: “When the month of Ramadan come, perform Umrah for Umrah in this (month) is equal to Hajj (in reward).”
Prerequisites for Umrah
He must be a Muslim
He must be of sound state of mind.
He must be an adult
He must be free
Her must have the necessary power and ability.
Pillars of Umrah (Arakan):
Ihram.
Tawaf.
Walking between Safa and Marwah
Shaving or Cutting.
Umrah Wajeb (obligation)
Wajeb is like a Rokn (Pillar) must be performed, the only deference is that neglecting wajeb require Fedya (forfeit) but neglecting a Rokn abolish Umrah. Ihram from Miqat (appointed time and place) is Umrah wajeb (obligation) and performance of farewell Tawaf if Umrah performer spend a night in Makkah
